The first resource I would use would be games. Games offer opportunities for playful learning. the range of games available and incorporating those games and game tools can be intimidating. Games simulations or tools already exist that can be used to meet goals. Games and education that are content-driven are still evolving. Having games in the classrooms give students the opportunity to explore content from another point of view. It also allows them to learn through teaching and simulating by creating a game. Learning through games helps with teamwork and collaboration. This will allow me to expand my teaching strategies.
My second resource would be presentation software. When designing a presentation such as a PowerPoint, it is important to know what is appropriate or inappropriate. It depends on how the visual is placed within the context of the presentation. Most of the time it is a good idea to make the visual and presentation simple so you will not confused the learners and so they can get a clear understanding of the content and context. There are many different types of presentation software that I could use. Using this method of teaching will allow me to help the students learn by visuals, activities, PowerPoint, lectures, etc. I also chose this method because when students see such visuals and things, it allows them to put an image with words. This can help them to describe what is going on or to know the connection between the context.
Very good points made here. First off, I agree that games are a stimulating way for students to learn and collaborate with one another. It also tricks them into learning subjects that might not necessarily be their favorite. While games are great for students they are also good for the teachers as well because if you have a student that does not learn well in a normal classroom kind of setting then playing instructional games could help assist him in the learning process.
ReplyDeleteHi I really like the idea of starting with a game first, like you said it would give the students the opportunity to explore new concepts with this different view, I may say that starting with a game it would give the student the chance to get more relaxed and would be able to get a glance of what the lesson is going to be about, they will know that they are going to be able to win at whatever it is they are going to learn, teamwork is always good after if they need to work in teams, that way they already know each other. It would be great if in your presentation after your game, you would incorporate some of the material they saw during the game. Great point on checking for understanding!
ReplyDeleteI agree moses presentation software has enabled traditional classroom setting to evolve with the technology age making information more acesible and the content more interesting leading to a higher enthusiasm level amongst students
